Police halt 'anti-social' hopscotch game

TWO teenage girls have been targeted by police - for playing hopscotch in their Midland street.

Officers swooped on Kayleigh Mangan and Georgina Smallwood, both 14, claiming they were behaving in an "anti-social" manner by playing the childhood game.

The community support officers also ticked the girls off for chalking too many hopscotch grids on the pavement in Spring Street in Halesowen.

The action by the bobbies was today defended by West Midlands Police, who said the girls were committing "low-level crime".

The officers spoke to the teenagers' mothers, and the girls were ordered to scrub off most of the chalk markings.

The swoop came just days after police took action against three other young girls, also in Halesowen, for building a treehouse.

The 12-year-olds concerned spent two hours in a cell, had their photographs, fingerprints and DNA swabs taken.Full story

Today, August 11, the Israeli army and Border Police brutally prevented Bil’in’s weekly non-violent demonstration, by firing rubber bullets and sound grenades on protestors as they marched through the village on their way to the Apartheid wall. Fourteen people from Bil’in, Israelis and internationals, have been injured, including an Israeli, Lymar, in critical condition who was shot on neck and just above his right ear with 3 rubber bullets at close range. He has had surgery at Tel Hashomer hospital to remove a rubber bullet that was lodged in his skull. Currently he is in a medical induced coma in moderate but stable condition, but has sustained brain damaged of unknown severity.

When was the last time you saw a bomb squad come in to deal with a potential explosive, liquid or not, completely unprotected, open the package in a crowd, and then dump said possible explosive in a bin full of other possible explosive’s? especially the liquid explosive they are looking for. If you put nitro into anything and jostle it around its not very stable it could explode!
